Pre-school readiness (3.5-5 years)
As toddlers begin to get ready for school one can notice the refinement and sophistication in the skills acquired through their initial years.
In addition to attention span, memory, social and communication skills, they will require skills to perform everyday tasks such as putting on and taking off their coats and
shoes, eating with a knife and fork, pencil and scissor skills, running to kick a stationary ball, etc, independently. They may also begin to show a hand preference.
Pre school Screening is for children aged 3.5 to 5 years. Screening is a short assessment intended to identify children who are at risk for developmental problems, or to determine if a child should be referred for a diagnostic assessment or evaluation. In the screening, a small number of key indicators are assessed in each developmental domain such as gross motor, fine motor, play skills, approaches to learning, communication/language and social emotional well being. The duration for the screening with you and your child will be 1 to 1.5 hours .
The therapist/s will engage your child and observe your child's participation and interaction through a variety of play based activities. Feedback is provided as appropriate
at the end of the session and a brief report of findings and further recommendations follow.
